Westbound – 8 oz. jar
This small batch of 74 jars is from the autumn (and final) harvest of our hives in downtown Birmingham (near the railroad, graciously hosted by Carrigan's Public House!). This honey tastes completely different than the summer harvest of these same hives (rXr). This batch is a darker honey with a unique aroma and kick. Unfortunately, these hives did not make it through the winter. (sad trombone) We wanted to pay homage to the railroad apiary site and the end of these dear hives. “Catching the westbound” is “hobo slang” for taking that last train to the big beehive in the sky….Let's pour out a drop of honey for these hard working girls!
As usual, we do not treat our hives with any chemicals. We also extract, bottle, and label everything by hand. A lot of love from the bees and from W3B goes into each bottle. Eat it up!
